Buttermilk Ranch Dressing/Dip

1 c. mayonnaise

1 c. buttermilk or plain yogurt (may want to thin yogurt w/ a little milk)

1 tsp minced garlic or 1/2 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp parsley flakes or 2 tsp fresh parsley

1 tsp onion powder or 2 green onions chopped

1 tsp oregano

Salt and Pepper to taste

If you only have garlic salt or onion salt, just omit the table salt.  Do not use both garlic AND onion salt.

Combine all ingredients, blend, shake, or whisk to combine.  It is best to refrigerate for a few hours before serving to bring out the flavor.  Using buttermilk will make it thin for salad and using yogurt will make it thick for dip.  You can use any combination of mayonnaise, buttermilk, and yogurt to suite your taste and needs.  I tend to use 1/2 c. mayonnaise, 1 1/2 c. yogurt and thin with milk to the consistency I want.

This makes a 2 cup batch and can be divided out or multiplied easily.
