Bread Pudding

An awesome way to use up stale bread or stale milk (stale, not sour! lol). If you like custardy, warm, ooey, and gooey- this is definately the recipe for you!

The Recipe:

8 slices of bread or equivalent of dry -cubed

2 eggs beaten
2 c. brown sugar
3 Tbl butter, melted
1 c. raisins (optional)
1 qt milk
1 tsp cinnamon

Place bread cubes in a greased casserole. Beat with mixer or wire wisk, all the other ingredients. Pour over top of bread. Squish bread down into the milk so everything is wet. Bake350^ for 45-60 min. While it’s baking you can make the sauce- if you want to! It adds more ooey gooey and so it also adds more calories.

Pudding Sauce:

1 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 Tbl flour
1 tsp Vanilla
1/2 c. cold water
1 c. boiling water
1 Tbl butter

Mix sugar, flour, vanilla with cold water. Pour into the saucepan of boiling water with butter. Cook until syrup like. You can either pour this over the warm bread pudding and wait for it all to cool or you can dish up the plain bread pudding into bowls, top with ice cream and then top the ice cream with this sauce.
